After earning a Grammy nod for Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s smash hit “All The Way Up,” super producers Cool & Dre team up with Recovery Unplugged artist Tommy Gunz to executive produce the rappers debut Halfway Home EP.
Tommy Gunz whose real name Tommy Kraus, is a self-described “conscious, hip-hop lyricist and performing artist in recovery.” For the past year, he has also been Lyrical Life Coach and more recently became a group facilitator at The Recovery Unplugged Treatment Center– (an addiction treatment organization offering a music-based approach to treatment and recovery) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. As of June 16th 2016, he’s been clean for two years.
Cviddy TV recently interviewed Tommy Gunz alongside Cool & Dre about working together for Halfway Home EP, during a private press meeting at Record Room Studio in North Miami, FL. Tommy is enthralled about the project and says Cool and Dre gave him “the soundtrack to his life.” The rapper tells us that the project will focus on everything that he went through during his active addiction and what his life has been like since he’s been clean. He plans to use his music to “give back.”
Highly supportive of the movement, Cool and Dre chimed in, Cool: “It’s an amazing cause and we’re all for the positive cause.” Dre: “Halfway Home, it’s a dope project. The music is powerful and when you put positivity out there you get it back ten times. We’re just proud to be apart of something very positive.”
