CViddy TV: Art Basel Miami 2016 Recap
December 5th, 2016 by Catiana
Art Basel Miami, a cultural celebration as much as a contemporary art fair, continues to be one of the hottest events in town year after year, with a variety of art exhibits, installations, parties, and events.
This year art enthusiasts, collectors, celebrities, and the young and millennial descended on Miami Beach and Wynwood for the traditional commemoration. With a hectic and non-stop Basel-agenda we’ve compiled visual recaps of some of the weeks best events and memorable moments.
On Art Basel’s Thursday night, Adidas Originals hosted #TLKS featuring guest speakers Pusha T, (artist and actor) Ben Jones and (model and activists) Adwoa Aboah. The event moderated by Surface Magazines editor-in-chief Spencer Bailey, took place at the center of Key Biscayne at the Miami Marine Stadium. The panelist spoke about their formative years, social media, politics and more. The evening also included a presentation of a new immersive video art installation by Ben Jones.

Friday, December 2, 1800 Tequila partnered with Billboard to host an exclusive Art Basel Exhibition honoring photographers Cam Kirk, Gunner Stahl and Places + Faces. The event was held at hotel Nautilus on Miami Beach. Guests sipped complimentary drinks and chatted while scoping out exhibits of some of our most influential rappers of today. Live music from Brittany Sky and Sonny Digital added to the celebratory atmosphere of the night. The highlight of the event was the after party, Rae Sremmurd took the stage by a storm preforming some of their greatest hit records.
We interviewed the photographers at the exhibition, watch below.
As a child, I've always loved music. From different genres such as Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop. Music allows you to be creative and express yourself the way that you please to. I've sought music to be a place where you can be YOU. You can dance, cry, laugh and do all kinds of crazy things to music. That is what makes me so passionate about what I do! My ultimate goal is to build a mainstream media platform that represents and supports culture such as paintings, music, film and provide empowering media coverage to my viewers.
